We're going to continue doing this, albeit the releases will be fewer and farther between during the college semesters since I, personally, am heavily bogged down this semester and my boss, the other programmer, is in the same boat. That aside, the game reached a playable state in the summer and we started releasing free alphas semimonthly. Granted, right now they are pretty static and there's not too many interesting interactions, seeing as the game is only about 40-50% through development. One of the core ideas behind this game's conception was that the creatures you encounter in-game shouldn't just be static things that wait around to kill you or be killed and drop loot. We've taken liberties in creating this game.įor example, one of the features we will be focusing more and more on as development progresses is the monster ecosystem. ![]() To sum up Barony, it's a 3D, multiplayer roguelike. It just so happened that it was the only game that was accepting Linux programmers at the time, so I checked it out.Ĭurrently, Barony is in development - mid-alpha, approaching beta.
